Worry and stress come into our lives daily, especially when our schedules are super busy! God has told us numerous times not to worry, and I think that by clinging to His good word and His truth, we can conquer the worry and stress in our lives.
Worry and stress and anxiety usually come into our lives when we have something due or we are going into a new situation. We don't usually worry when we watch TV! But, worry might come in when we have a big project due in two days. The p fear creeps in of "what if I don't finish?" and "what if something goes wrong?" In MOST situations, we get stress or worry when something could go wrong. We also can become stressed when we go into an unknown situation. There are so many scenarios of ways to become stressed, but the bottom line is that God doesn't want us to live a stressful life! He wants us to trust in Him and live to the fullest! I found some amazing and helpful verses that teach us about worry and anxiety:).
Philippians 4:6-7 ~ "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I love this verse because God tells us how to overcome worry! :) God say instead of worry, pray and give thanks! God also says present your request to Him. If you are worried about a test, ask Him for help on the test. Something else I love love love about this verse is that God says, "in EVERY situation." There is no situation that is too big or too scary. In EVERY situation, don't worry but instead pray. The opposite of worry is peace. God says that by doing these things, He will give you a peace that is so great, it is beyond our understanding, and it will guard our hearts and minds. This is special:). This peace is special.
I once had a really tough situation where I was just struggling and failing. I would have usually been very upset, anxious, and fearful. Instead, I prayed and God literally gave me a peace beyond my understanding. As I was failing miserably, I smiled, and I praised Jesus. I said "thank you Jesus," as I was losing and struggling. This was the first time I felt complete peace in such a terrible mess. It was amazing. God is so faithful and His word is nothing but truth! I want you to know that in any worry, He can and He will give you peace. Give Him the situation, and He will exchange it for a special and perfect pure peace in your heart. <3
Psalm 55:22 ~ "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken." This verse again shows the "exchange" with God. If you give your worry, He will sustain you and give you peace. Letting God take control of the situation allows you to drop the heavy burden of stress and renew your strength. You don't have to worry because the Lord will sustain you. He won't let you be shaken! This doesn't mean that you won't ever go through a hard time, but that when you go through a hard time, you will have the strength to stay strong. So when a scary situation comes up and you are ready to worry, give it to God because He will sustain you, and no matter how bad it is, YOU won't be shaken:).
This reminds me of the song "We Won't Be Shaken" by Building 429. You should go listen to it because it is amazing! The lyrics are inspiring, and the you can't help but smile when you hear it:).
John 14:27 ~ "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." This verse is super awesome! God gives you peace, sweet friends. Something to notice in this verse is when it says, "I do not give as the world gives." We CAN'T take our peace from the world, because we will only be let down. The world can not give the peace God gives. God doesn't give as the world gives. The world gives you fake peace that will only lead you down a road of destruction. The world places their peace in things if the world. "You will have peace if you become more creative, more pretty, more skinny..." But don't trust these worldly things, because non work! Give it over to God and trust Him, because then you will feel a peace beyond your understanding. Don't be afraid p, dear friends, because God is good. God will give you peace and you don't have to worry!
These were just a couple of the many verses where God tells us not to worry!! His peace is so beautiful and pure. His peace is genuine. It is true. His peace is lovely and hopeful. His peace is calming. His peace renews your mind and changes lives! Choose His peace and give over the worry of the world. You got this awesome world changer! You got this:).
