happy thoughts

man do I love happy thoughts:).

positive thinking, joy, happiness, beauty, truth, love,

these are beautiful things!!

I don't know if you know how truly important your thoughts are. I didn't know until recently, and I just have to share with you guys.

Science has shown us that positive thinking does make a huge huge huge impact on our lives! Not only our mental lives, but even physically!

This is why God has told us how important our thoughts are.

He tells us in Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

That was the King James version, and it doesn't get any truer than that! If its good and lovely, think about it. If its negative an bad, take it captive.

Taking our thoughts captive is something God tells us to do in 2 Corinthians 10:5. It is really great that God told us to take our thoughts captive, because it shows that from time to time (or much more often), we are going to think negative things. But when we think negative things, it's our job to call upon Jesus, and rebuke the negative thoughts in His Name.

A quote that I really like says this, "You can not control the waves, but you can learn to surf." This quote shows us that we can't always be in control at what happens to us in life. Bad things happen, and there isn't much getting around that. But we can learn to deal with those bad things by maintaining a good attitude. :) It can be tough, and it is a challenge I struggle with daily, but it will literally change our life.

Something as small as a thought, can impact something as big as a life -Joyful Chorus. <3

now how do we start thinking positive?

It is a big process, but the first step is to keep your mind on Jesus! because Jesus is the most positive, happy, and joyful thing you could think about.

I looked up online, "How to think positive," and google said this...

1. Use positive words when talking. God also tells us to use positive words in Proverbs 15;4, which says, "Gentle words bring life and health, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit."

2. Push out feelings that are negative. God tells us Luke 10:19, "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you." (I love love love that verse!!)

3. Avoid negative people. God tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Do not be deceived, bad company corrupts good morals."

I believe that becoming more positive can start with those 3 ideas.
When we talk, we should only speak life. God tells us to let everything we say be a reflection of Him:)

When we start to think negative, we have to remember that we are given authority over all the evil spirits in Jesus Name! so use the authority you have been given:).

And lastly, but probably one of the most important, surround yourself with good people. Surround yourself with good people. I had to say it twice because it's just that important. I'm sure you've heard the quote, "show me your friends, I'll show you your future." Teachers, parents, and grandparents say it all the time! It's not like your friends determine your future, but more that who you hang out with does make an impact on you.

If your hanging out with kids that get perfect grades, always show up on time, and have a good attitude, you will most likely be the same way.

But if your friends with people who ditch school, sell illegal things, use bad language, and get in trouble a lot, you will have a good chance of being the same way.

I understand that I just used two extreme examples, and your friend group is most likely in the middle. (With the exception of a few;)). But hanging out with good people can truly be a game changer for your attitude on life!!

Of course, God is the ultimate changer, healer, and friend. But God did not make us to live this life alone, so pray to have Godly, loving, kind, and positive friends:). He does provide!

Story time:

I went to public school from k-6th grade, then I switched to home school. I went to home school in 7th grade, and I didn't have many friends. The friends I did have were nice, but they weren't very Godly people.

I then went to 8th grade and went to school 3 days a week. This was a time of growth and starting over for me. I had to make all new friends, and I had many days where I sat alone at lunch. But this was probably one of the biggest blessings in disguise.

I met a really rad group of people who were all sold out for Jesus. High school came around and it was/is literally the best years of my life. I have the most amazing, Godly, and sweet friends. We even do a bible school at school everyday, and we call ourselves GodSquad ;). Haha their the best!

But I would have never met these amazing people if I didn't have such a horrible time at public school and homeschool. I am NOT saying that God purposely gave me bad experiences, but rather that what man intends for evil, God intends for good. And my friends right now have helped shaped me into the person I am today. This is because your friends DO matter!

if your in a time right now where your struggling with having any friends, pray. Because I have witnessed first hand that God provides. Sometimes you go in the valleys before you go on the hill, but He really does provide. and I would recommend getting involved in clubs and youth group! They are super sick!

If your in a time right now where you have friends but they aren't the best influences, I encourage you to meet new people who have the same morals as you. I would recommend not just leaving your group of friends, but instead finding other friends and slowly parting ways. It's hard, but it's worth it:). (don't leave your friend group until you have new friends, unless they are REALLY bad). Also, make sure to not conform to the worlds ways if you are in an ungodly group, but instead make sure your a light for Christ.

And if your in a time right now where you have got the best friends in the whole world who love Jesus so much, enjoy it. Enjoy every second of it. Cherish them, and be grateful or them. Let them have a special place in your heart, and allow yourself to be vulnerable with them. love them. Because they will be one of the biggest blessings you will ever have.

So this whole blog post was to let you know how important happy thoughts are! So keep being happy, because as the old quote goes, "our thoughts determine our lives."

Stay awesome, stay cool, and much love

xoxo
